LESSONS
We welcome all ages and levels of riders. You are never too old to learn a new skill or restart an old passion. Did you ride when you were younger and hoping to get back into it? We can help you. Looking to involve your child is something a little different than the usual soccer or basketball? We can help you. We don’t only teach you how to formally ride, we teach you how to communicate with animals in a way they understand. Your teammate is someone who can’t speak back. We dive deeper into the everyday riding and really work with communication and working positively with animals. The benefits for not only kids, but also adults, are huge. Our current rates for lessons are $40. We start in a private setting for safety and individualized attention. The entire session lasts for an hour and we review handling, grooming, tacking and untacking, with a 30 minute private ride time. After several private sessions we do offer group sessions. Group sessions have the same rate with longer ride times. We always pair groups with similar ages and ability levels.
TRAINING
We specialize in starting and restarting horses. Your horse has never had someone on their back? No problem — let us do that for you! We have a long list of happy clients with horses we have started and sent home. We are happy to provide references. Not an English rider? It doesn’t matter. We start with a rudimentary training and it will transfer to any discipline. In 30 days your horse will be trotting independently with a rider. They will understand basic leg and rein cues. Need more time here? No problem. We can keep your horse for as long as you need and we will put as much training as you want on.
We use compassionate training shaped around your horse. One size does not fit all. A start for a young horse is $1200 for the first month they are with us. Because starting horses can be inherently dangerous, our first month rate is the highest. After your horse is started the monthly rates drop and we charge per session. All training sessions for boarders are $40 per session. Discounts are offered for boarders in the lesson program. We charge restarts case by case depending on how long your horse has been sitting.
Starting horses does not have to be dramatic or anxiety inducing for your horse. We take our time. We desensitize them. We use ground work and we teach horses to be mannerly and safe around their human handlers. In our step by step approach, your horse becomes confident and capable in their work. The beginning of their training sets the course for their entire riding career. Get them started right.
